SunRise SunLight Project
Empty 2Lt Coke bottles are used as skylights for houses in informal settlements with no electricity. After research it was found that one drop of Jik in a empty bottle can provide the same light during daylight as a 60 Watt globe, using the sun as only energy source
It will not only provide a source of light in the houses, but will also save money for these residents, because less paraffin and candles are used. Curious about how it works, then please come and give a hand. Contact Rev. Malwande Mdonga at:

Getting dirty in the community. We preach, we serve the community, we create relationships - we seek to be hands, feet, ears and mouth of Jesus Christ to those around us for the advancement of His Kingdom.
I was with these young men from University of Pretoria (Sonop Group) with whom we (Sunrise Road NPC) have had an awesome relationship - united in community building.
During my walk about in the community, at Woodlane Village, I heard something similar to what the... "Samaritan woman" would have been saying when she came across Jesus..... "You cannot be asking for water from me, you are a Jew and I am a Samaritan". Two guys came up to me and said, "White people in our camp, with black people, fixing our shacks. What are they doing? ....it's unusual". The other said with a smile....."Blessed are you brother, you are walking about with white people".
However, these young Afrikaans speaking men, were amazing hey. They engaged Zulu and Sotho speaking people in their own languages....and that opened the community up for them to connect; others saying; "these white people are interested in us, they even speak our languages". We extremely respect these young men who broke down one of the communities “unusual”. Sunrise Road, working together with Rainbow Christian Fellowship are moving.......
Glory be to Christ
